Marvel at Everything was tasked with minimising disruption for Northern customers travelling on the Lakes Line during Rail Replacement works due to our excellent reputation as signage experts. These rail works had been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, meaning the timetable had to be planned in just four months compared to the standard nine to 12.
This resulted in a significant amount of service cancellations with very little notice, so we were called to survey the stations on the Lakes Line at the last minute and implement a signage plan to ensure customers knew what was happening and how they could reach their destinations. The high volume of tourists using these lines meant that we had to act quickly but also implement clear signage solutions that overcame language barriers and lack of local knowledge.
The Marvel at Everything signage team was called on Friday morning and arrived on site to meet Northern managers just a couple of hours later. By Saturday morning, plans were coming together and the cogs were in motion for signage to be designed, printed and fitted at a number of stations including, most prominently, Windermere just 48 hours after the brief was received.
